Depending on the composition of the day cream, it takes a few seconds to around a minute until it is completely absorbed into the skin. If you use a hyaluronic acid serum before applying the day cream from our GREEN series, it should first be completely absorbed (after approx. 1-2 minutes). If you apply the day cream while your face is still moist from the serum, it may lay on the skin, spread more poorly and leave white marks that take longer to absorb.
How much cream do you need for the face?
We recommend to apply cream twice a day after cleansing and toning in the morning and evening. In very hot temperatures, after a shower or in dry air, you can add a third or fourth time of applying lotion or cream, depending on how your skin feels.
After cleansing with cleansing milk and facial toner, apply a hazelnut-sized amount of cream to your fingertips. Rub the cream lightly between your fingertips to warm it up. Then massage the cream in small, circular movements against gravity from bottom to top, i.e. from the chin to the temples and finally along the bridge of the nose.
Wrinkles appear in the course of the natural aging process, when the elasticity of the subcutaneous tissue decreases, the connective tissue cells in the dermis produce less collagen and elastin and when finally the skin becomes drier with hormonal changes. Sunbathing, alcohol or nicotine consumption and genetic factors also age the skin and cause wrinkles. Depending on the type and cause of the wrinkles, different ways and means can help. Applying a serum of low molecular hyaluronic acid consistently over several weeks or months, expression lines can be naturally plumped from within and become significantly less visible. The elasticity of the skin can be improved with hyaluronic acid and naturally stimulating ingredients such as pucic acid from pomegranate extracts, alike. In contrast, deep wrinkles can usually only be reduced in a minimally invasive manner, e.g. by injecting cross-linked hyaluronic acid into the affected skin area.
First of all, skin age and biological age do not have to be identical. A skin age of 50+ is often characterised by a somewhat paler appearance, static wrinkles in the eye and mouth area and possibly the first deeper wrinkles. A suitable day cream should therefore focus on maintaining elasticity, stimulating cell renewal and improving radiance and suppleness. The day cream should also provide the skin with sufficient moisture.
For mature skin, an anti-aging serum, e.g. with hyaluronic acid, is recommended for application under the day cream. A serum with highly concentrated active ingredients can specifically address skin care needs. Low molecular hyaluronic acid helps to replenish the natural moisture depots and to strengthen the connective tissue.
Since the skin already has a high oil content, it is advisable to choose a product with a higher water and slightly lower lipid content. Oftentimes, a lotion or a fluid is better for oily and combination skin than a cream. If richer care is required in winter, a combination of fluid in the morning and a light night cream in the evenings can be a solution.
Hyaluronic acid is particularly suitable for providing the skin with lasting moisture, as it binds large amounts of water. With low-molecular hyaluronic acid, this moisture is transported into the skin in order to act where it is needed. With regular use, the skin's natural moisture depots are replenished and skin becomes smoother and more supple.
In order for dry skin to optimally store moisture, it needs an intact skin barrier. Creams are more suitable than lotions for dry skin, as they have a higher content of lipids (i.e. fats). Ideally, these fats should be natural, because natural fats such as olive oil, shea butter, avocado, jojoba or almond oil are more similar to sebum than their synthetic counterparts. As a result, they are better absorbed and processed by the skin, but they also contain important nutrients and substances such as unsaturated fatty acids that help strengthen the skin's barrier.
In combination skin, the T-zone over the forehead, nose and chin is often oily, while the cheeks are dry. A skin care for combination skin should therefore be lightweight and provide the skin with sufficient moisture. Natural ingredients are more suitable than synthetic ones, as they can be absorbed by the skin. Aloe vera, for example, is an excellent source of moisture and nutrients, natural oils help improve the skin barrier in the long term and this reduce moisture loss. Since the skin is exposed to many environmental influences during the day, antioxidant ingredients are also useful in skin care for combination skin.
Sustainability, purity and naturalness are very important to us. In organic cultivation, farmers have to ensure crop rotation, renounce on pesticides or chemical fertilizers and are not allowed to use genetically modified seeds. Only this kind of farming is in line with our core values.
Yes, we love animals and would never test cosmetics on them! In our formulations we completely renounce on animal product and don't even use honey or beeswax. Also our hyaluronic acid is synthesized from plant-material.
No, the GREEN series only features natural fragrances, either as essential oils, natural extracts or cold-pressed oils.
Purity and skin compatbility are key in our products. We have a very clear philosophy to renounce on unnecessary fillers to save costs or get to a comfortable texture easily. As a principle, we renounce on mineral oils and silicones and instead use organic-grade cold pressed oils and natural lipds. This alternative is far more exepnsive, but allows us to create products with luxurious textures that contain precious nutrients that absorb into skin. In general, natural oils and lipids integrate far better into the skin's balance: as an emulsion they resemble human sebum and are therefore very well compatible with the skin and gentle to nature and the environment. They further properly absorb into the upper layers of the skin and condition dry skin especially well.
We have very high standards for ingredients and packaging. In our ingredients, we particularly focus on their purity. Through constant quality control and tests, we make sure that only the best products leave our production. High-quality dispensers with airless technology guarantee that germs and bacteria don't even make it into our products. This allows us to renounce on preservatives for the most part, and work with preserving active ingredients like natural antioxidants, essential oils, tocopherol or citric acid.
