Moisturizing Mask

We advise to cleanse the skin with a peeling so that the pores are free to absorb the active ingredients from the mask. Apply a generous amount of the mask to slightly damp skin. Distribute well onto face, neck and décolleté in a 1-2 mm thick layer. Let it soak in for 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, massage the rest of the mask in or take it off thoroughly with warm water.

Depending on your needs, you can use a face mask once or twice a week in addition to your existing skin care routine.

It is advisable to apply a moisturizing mask after showering. Especially during hot showers, the steam helps open pores, which improves the penetration of active ingredients.

Hyaluronic acid can bind very large amounts of moisture - up to 6,000 times its own weight. That is why hyaluronic acid, when used in masks, helps provide the skin extra moisture.

Before buying, you should decide on what type of mask you would like to apply: Sheet masks range from fleece to silk masks, from biocellulose to foil masks. They usually have to lie on the skin for 15 to 20 minutes to take effect. Rinse-off masks include mud packs to remove toxins and blackheads, as well as moisturizing or toning masks, e.g. with herbal extracts. Leave-on masks behave like a rich skin cream and, when applied in a thick layer, can be worked into the skin after an exposure time of 15 to 20 minutes.

The skin can lack moisture for various reasons: if the skin barrier is not intact, the so-called transepidermal water loss (TWV) can increase. This means that a lot of the moisture that is supplied to the skin evaporates again. However, moisture can also be lacking in the skin due to a low production of hyaluronic acid. On hot days, the body loses large amounts of water through sweating, on other days you may not drink enough fluids. This makes the skin drier and tense or itchy over time. A moisturizing mask can therefore give the skin back moisture in a targeted manner. If it contains natural oils, these also help to strengthen the skin barrier.

As a principle, we renounce on mineral oils and silicones and instead use organic-grade cold pressed oils and natural lipds. This alternative is far more exepnsive, but allows us to create products with luxurious textures that contain precious nutrients that absorb into skin. In general, natural oils and lipids integrate far better into the skin's balance: as an emulsion they resemble human sebum and are therefore very well compatible with the skin and gentle to nature and the environment. They further properly absorb into the upper layers of the skin and condition dry skin especially well.
